Success! I stitched the large heart with a proper underlay using a 2 mm satin stitch and a 3 mm satin stitch. Both held their shape in water. I like the look of the 2 mm a bit better. I suspect that if I wanted to hang a bead or other ornament in the middle, I’d need to stiffen them a bit more. On the other hand, it might be okay since the weight of the bead would be pulling on the dip of the heart and the ring.

I know it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day, so I plan to get all the heart earring files shared some time this weekend. What do you think of these? The letters are different colors so there won’t be any jump stitches. The squares are 1″, so each earring is about 1 1/8″ across.
Hmm…. It just occurred to me that these might violate copyright laws. It’s not quite the same as using the image of a cartoon character, and they aren’t a candy product. This copyright business is tricky.
I have a question for all of you. Do you want the lower case letters and punctuation for Midnight Constellations, or shall we move on to something else? The letters are about 3″ high, so it would be difficult to fit a name into a 4″ hoop. Each square below is 1″. Leave a comment and let me know.
Here’s the next letter of the Midnight Constellations Font.
