Quick Tip #2

Zoom Bar The Zoom Bar has a drop down menu and seven icons. The first two icons allow you to zoom in (+) and out (-) by dragging. To zoom in, drag a rectangle around the area you want to magnify. Generations will make that area fill the screen. To zoom out, draw a rectangle and Generations will fit your design into the rectangle as best it can without distorting it. (At least I think that’s how it works.)

1:1 returns you to 100% magnification.

Zoom all design fills the screen with your design. Zoom selected object fills the screen with the object(s) you have selected.

My favorite tools are Zoom undo and Zoom redo. These allow you toggle back and forth between two different zoom levels without using the drop down menu.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts. (You don’t need to hold any other keys or capitalize the letter.) I tend not to use these because there’s usually a cat in my lap blocking access to the keyboard, but you may find them helpful.

  • Zoom In – I
  • Zoom Out – O
  • 1:1 – N (for normal?)
  • Zoom all design – A
  • Zoom selected object – Z
  • Zoom undo – Q
  • Zoom redo – W

If you are having trouble downloading the files, please read Downloading Files.
